Turnover Information –
Dot Rodrick the Handicap Chair agreed to input LCC-WGL weekly scores for members for the 2018 season noting that if members input their own or incorrect scores, they will be responsible to contact their GHIN manager to have the duplicate or incorrect scores corrected/removed. Our Local rule will include that the Handicap Chair will enter player scores for 2018. Members need to submit CLEAR and LEGIBLE cards weekly. It was suggested that a blank line between the players’ names be used for marking putts thus leaving the scoring line legible.
After the turnover of information, Cookie and Dot excused themselves and the New Executive Board held a meeting.
Treasurer – The board discussed line items for the budget. A review of the prior years’ payouts for weekly games, CC and PC were provided by the Prize committee prior to the meeting. Hostess – The hostess provided a list of her responsibilities.
The new board reviewed the list of suggestions submitted by league members:
The executive board had a discussion on ways to raise funds in lieu of raising dues. It was determined that we will try a side game called “kickers”. The rules of the game are those that want to participate each week will pay two dollars into the kitty. The player will guess what the last number of their score will be (ie., 92 and they selected “2”) prior to play. If the number they select matches the number drawn, they will win $20 or a portion of the money (depending on the number of winners). The balance of the funds collected will go into the treasury.
New Membership was discussed. A flyer will be prepared and placed at the desk and in the Ladies Locker Room in an attempt to draw in new members. Executive Board members will look for other places to display the flyers (grocery stores, golf shops, communities) Consideration to be given to players who’s handicaps exceed our current maximum with the expectation that they will be able to lower their handicaps during the season. These new players will be expected to play at the pace of our current players.
