Your handicap must be no higher than 36 at LCC to play in matches
LCC carries a roster of about 15 possible players
Please do not be offended if you are not chosen to play, if we take on too many, it makes it difficult to play everyone
Members who are accepted onto this competitive team
can expect to play one time each season
There is a yearly dues per player of $10 -
In 2021 the Interclub Team will wear new team shirts of plum and white.
For each match, 6 LCC members will be asked if they can play:
2 A Flights, 2 B Flights and 2 C Flights
The LCC InterClub Team Leaders make this decision. Team members are contacted before the season starts as to their personal schedules and availability
HOWEVER: since these are competitive matches,
team member selections are based on:
1. A team members current golf success rate
2. A teams members availability – which often changes
Before you can play an away game, a team member must play her first competitive match at home
What is it like to play competitively in Match Play?
Match Play:
Play in golf, in which the score is determined by
counting the holes won by each side,
(as opposed to the number of strokes taken)
The points won for each match accumulate and at the end of the season,
the team with the most points is the winner.
match play can be exhilarating and exasperating at the same time.
A strong knowledge of Golf Rules is imperative!
The games can be very friendly, however, they are competitive in nature.
Some teams are friendly, some teams are focused. You and your flight partner need to communicate throughout the day and be supportive of each other
and your competition. Good sportsmanship is expected, not a perfect golf game. Everyone makes a mistake once in a while.
How your team can recover from a lost hole and go on to victory
is what will matter!
After the match, teams all lunch together. Everyone pays for their own lunch.
